NNPCL denies clash with Petroleum Marketers. Debunks plan to sell Petrol at NGN 1200/litre

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited(NNPCL) has denied the claims made yesterday 3rd January, 2024 that it planned to increase the price of Fuel (PMS) to ₦1,200 per litre. It is false.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) has said that there are no immediate plans for a hike in the cost of Fuel (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

In a statement which was released on Wednesday the 3rd of January, 2024 and signed by NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi O. Soneye, the company urged Nigerians to disregards rumors and avoid panic buying as there are no oncoming upward review of the price of petrol in the country.

The spokesman also debunked claims that the NNPC Limited clashed with Petroleum Marketers or any other party for that matter.

NNPCL said, “Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country”.

The spokesman added, “The publication sought confirmation on the alleged subsidy reduction, to which NNPC responded that the subsidy has been entirely removed.”
